Dear Godert Family,
What a remarkable man Fred Godert clearly was, in life and in the hearts left behind with his passing. NAMI Buffalo thanks you for your kindness in asking that friends and family honor his memory with a contribution to a mental health awareness charity. We have gratefully received such a donation this week; and appreciate that he was both a joyful and caring "family man". We are sorry for your loss, and hope that beautiful memories and shared stories of the good times and remembrance of his presence in your lives will bring both comfort and peace to you.

I was blessed to have Fred for a brother for 59 years. I cherish the wonderful memories of fun times spent together with him. He was always there for our family when we needed advice or help. He was so much like our dad. Our hearts are broken...Fred was the special one that everyone loved. His gentle heart and love for our family will be missed forever. Heaven did get another angel. I trust that his spirit will always stay close to us. Rest in peace my sweet brother. I love you Fred.

Fred was a dear friend that I met working at the Airways hotel in the 1980's. Although I have not seen him in years I think of him every time "Starry, starry night" comes on the radio. He would constantly get up and sing it at the Shannon Pub. I have such fond memories of him and thoughts of him always make me smile. My father was his dentist and just loved him and Thelma. He always commented on what a class act they both were. I was just thinking of him the other day and the ad he did for Hair Replacement for Men. Thanks for the laughter, Fred. I will always remember fondly the memories that we made. Thelma, my heart breaks for you. He was a good man. Fred, please say hello to my father in heaven.
