Anniebell Workman

On Monday, March 23,2020, Annie Belle Workman, loving wife and mother of ten,passed away at the age of 82.

Annie Bell Ross,was born February 20,1937 in Vicksburg, Mississippi to Sam and Mary Ross.

Annie was a faithful member of Miracle Missions Church, and enjoyed serving the church until her declining health prevented her from doing so. Her hobbies included fishing,bingo, gardening and she was a excellent cook. Annie Belle married Leroy Workman in 1974, and raised her large family at 164 Olympic Street.

In that home, " Mama" , as she was affectionately called, raised her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren,and was considered a surrogate mother to countless neighborhood children and friends. Her door was always open,and no one ever left her home with a empty stomach.

Annie was preceded in death by her husband Leroy, her daughter Jackie, her sons Alexander " Butch " ( Josephine ) and Albert Davis, and three brothers, Richard , Sam Jr. , and Robert Ross. She is survived by her seven children: Shelby, Alice, Melvin ( Jacqueline ), Gregory ( Monique ), Brenda ( Keith ) , Ronald ( Jeannie ) , Juanita ( Thomas ) , granddaughters Felicia ( Leonard ) and Carol ( David ) , two brothers, Jesse Ross of South Haven, MI, and James Ross of Vicksburg MS , One sister , Dorothy Sherrod of South Haven MI ,and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews
