Evette McClinton Obituary

Evette McClinton was born on January 6, 1968, in Buffalo, New York to the late J C & Irene McClain (nee Cooksey). Evette was granted her wings on October 23rd, 2021. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends.

Evette was educated in the Buffalo Public School system. At an early age Evette had a love for children. As a pre-teen she would teach spelling and math in her parent’s home to children in the neighborhood. Evette worked as a certified nursing assistant. She enjoyed painting, soaping, doing arts & crafts and studying the bible. Evette was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and aunt.

In addition to her parents, Evette was preceded in death by her grandmother Johnnie Ruth Cooksey (nee Gosden). Siblings: James (Ella) McClain, Robert Cook, Mae Morgan, Shirley Hicks, and Michelle McClain. 

She leaves her children to cherish her memories: LaShawna German, David Micheal (Deona) McClinton Jr., Dezmond (Emilie) McClinton, Tamia Fluellen, Lanesha Fluellen and Sophia McClinton. Seven grandchildren; Bernard Washington III, Carter Washington, Daveona McClinton, Dayonna McClinton, Emmanuel McClinton, Michelle McClinton and Charlotte McClinton. Siblings; Billie Jean Cook, Frankie Cook, Earl (Sherry) McClain, Ella (Kenneth) Darden, Gloria (Danny) Johnson and Jeremiah (Priscilla) McClain. One Aunt; Frances Jean Moore (nee Cooksey) of Detroit, MI. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close family friend David McClinton.
